f you are a landlord that involves in a situation with a bad tenant, it is imperative to know your rights, so that you can effectively navigate the situation from a legal perspective. Rules to evict a tenant

A landlord cannot physically remove you from the property. They are required to file an application
with the Landlord and Tenant Board first and follow a thorough eviction process. In certain cases,
they will hold a hearing, and if the decision of the board is unanimous to get the tenant evicted, only

Your building landlord can only ask you to leave in certain situations and must issue a written notice
provided by the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB). They are an independent tribunal with the power
to take care of any tenancy disputes in Ontario. However, the form must specify a reason for evicting
the tenant.

Even if your landlord gives you a written notice, you don’t need to vacate the property until they
receive an eviction order from the Landlord and Tenancy Board. As a tenant, you have the right to go
to the hearing and explain why you should be evicted.
